The challenge

The brand has been selling on a Magento 2 shop up to now. However, this shop system requires constant attention, as there are always security updates to be installed. This resulted in high costs. In addition, the simultaneous onslaught of the masses on the shop had to be absorbed by temporarily increasing server performance. This was also associated with manual effort and costs. When switching to a different shop system, there were concerns that the functions for a “product drop” could not be implemented with an existing extension. This had to be programmed individually.

The solution

Shopify was able to fulfil all these requirements perfectly. The special “Product Drop” extension was customised directly in the theme. The shop manager can set the time of the drop in the backend and everything else then runs automatically. The sudden rush of users is easily absorbed by Shopify. There is nothing to do - apart from processing the many orders. The Billbee merchandise management system was connected for this purpose. This is used to organise shipping as a team so that all happy customers receive their orders as quickly as possible.

The benefit

With the new Shopify shop, there is no longer a large, complex system to maintain yourself. It is always up to date. The implementation of the “Product Drop” feature in the theme was quick and uncomplicated. Including the user interface for the shop manager. Shop performance is no longer a problem. It simply runs, no matter how many customers access the shop.

The result

The Shopify shop now runs reliably and without further support for each of these sales campaigns. The costs are significantly lower and more predictable. Extensions are possible at any time so that the shop can also adapt flexibly to future business developments.
